I love a good salad! Back in the day, I would get chopped salads for lunch from Au Bon Pain. It was pricey but damn good. Now, ABP is gone, and I work from home. We decided to make a salad bar at home, but something was still missing. Then it dawned on me, the leaves were too damn big LOL!
I headed straight to Amazon and bought a salad chopper. It’s life-changing. Trust me. Chopped salads taste so much better.
My basic salad recipe:
- Spinach or a spinach mix
- Shredded carrots
- Onion – I like to dice or slice
- Grape or cherry tomatoes
- A fruit – I like to use mango, strawberries, or grapes
- A cheese – I like feta, parmesan, or sharp cheddar
- Meat – optional – I like canned tuna, chicken, or salmon (usually whatever we have left over in the fridge)
- Seasoning – yes! You season everything else; season that salad too! I usually do Garlic Pepper.
Once everything is in a bowl, I drizzle with olive oil or the dressing of my choice, usually a vinaigrette, and chop with my salad chopper.
Enjoy!
